Q: What is the Green Card Lottery?
A: The DIVERSITY VISA PROGRAM, known as the GREEN CARD LOTTERY was enacted by the United States Congress in 1990. The CURRENT PROGRAM allocates 55,000 visas, known as "Green Cards" to applicants from certain eligible countries around the world. The selected applicants will be chosen in a random drawing or "LOTTERY" conducted by the U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT.

Q: How does the Green Card Lottery work?
A: To obtain a Green Card, a completed formatted entry application must be electronically filed with the U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT. Paper entries are no longer allowed. The U.S. State Department will then select the "WINNERS" by a computer drawing or "LOTTERY". Winners will be notified by mail. Winners will then receive official forms to be filled out and an interview will be scheduled at the nearest United States Consulate to receive their Green Cards. Winners residing in the United States can adjust their status and have their interview scheduled with the Immigration & Naturalization Service without leaving the country.

Q: What rights does a Green Card offer?
A: A Green Card gives a person the LEGAL RIGHT to LIVE, WORK AND STUDY permanently in the United States and to enter and leave the country freely. You may work in the many government, public and private jobs that are available. Green Card holders also receive health, education and other benefits. They can also sponsor relatives for Green Cards.

The Green Card DOES NOT affect present citizenship. A Green Card holder may later apply for United States citizenship, if desired.

Q: Do I qualify to enter?
A: You qualify to enter if you (or your husband or wife) were born in one of the selected lottery countries. The selected lottery countries include every country in the world EXCEPT the following: Canada, China, Columbia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Korea, Mexico, Pakistan, Philippines, Russia, United Kingdom, and Vietnam. If you (or your husband or wife) were born in any country except those, you can legally apply to be in the Green Card lottery (Taiwan, Hong Kong and Northern Ireland are treated as a separate countries and are eligible.)
You can enter wherever you are living - even in the United States. You must have at least your country’s equivalent of a U.S. high school diploma OR two years work experience in a job which requires two years of training. You do not have to speak or write English. You do not need to have relatives living in the United States. You do not need to have a certain amount of money or a job waiting, BUT you must be able to show that you can work and/or support yourself. You cannot be a criminal, cannot be mentally disturbed, and cannot be a threat to the United States' national interest. You can enter the Green Card Lottery even if you have an immigration petition pending, such as a relative or employer’s petition. Entering the Green Card lottery does not affect current or past petitions.

Q: When is the latest I can enter?
A:

There is only a very short period of time during the year when the government will accept applications. It is extremely important to enter before the deadline. The exact dates are announced about 60 days ahead of time and are subject to change each year. By submitting your application to National Visa Service today, you will be guaranteed entry in the next lottery. The sooner you apply, the better your chances are to be entered before the deadline. The surest way to be entered in this year's lottery is to apply on line right now. Entering on-line is easy and guaranteed 100% safe.

Q: What about my family?
A: If you win the lottery and receive a Green Card, your husband or wife and all unmarried children under twenty-one (21) years of age will also receive Green Cards. All family members who will accompany you to the U.S. must be included on your application (failure to list a family member on your application can result in disqualification after you win). Children twenty-one (21) or older must file their own separate application.

Q: How do I enter?
A: Fill out the on-line application now and submit it electronically or print the form and mail it to National Visa Service. Answer the questions to the best of your knowledge. Return the application, processing fee and photograph(s) as soon as possible. Remember, you must provide the following:
  1. Application form

Q: What is the fee?
A: National Visa Service guarantees you the lowest entry fee of any professional U.S. Immigration service. Typically the fee is only $50 USD for a single person and only $75 USD for a family, including all handling and expenses of preparing, processing, digital photo scanning and electronic filing of your application with the U.S. Department of State. If you find any bona fide green card lottery service that publishes a lower fee for these services, enclose a copy of their offer with your paid application and National Visa Service will refund the difference to you. No other United States Immigration Service compares with National Visa Service in quality, service or price.

Q: How can I comply with rules that require digital photographs and electronic entry over the Internet?
    A:

You don’t have to! National Visa Service does everything for you. The government requires electronic submission of all entries. Each person’s data and digital photograph must be uploaded over the internet– paper applications that are sent to the government are disqualified without notice! Many people do not have the high tech tools required for electronic entry. Those who do can be confused by the very strict and complex technical requirements. The danger of disqualification is very high for anyone who tries to do it himself or who uses an unreliable service. Why take a chance? Using the most advanced technology, National Visa Service accepts your paper application and photographs, digitizes them for you at no extra cost, and electronically submits them directly to the U.S. Government in exactly the right way and at exactly the right time to give you the best possible chance to win ... guaranteed!

You can enter online right now! It’s fast, easy and 100% guaranteed safe.
